 Synopsis

Hashira, Sanemi, and Iguro, along with their friends, head to an abandoned mountaintop castle on a mission, while Tanjiro is treated at the Butterfly Mansion for injuries he sustained in Swordsmith Village. Later, the Hashira gather at the Ubuyashiki mansion to hold a Hashira meeting where Muichiro reveals how the marks manifested. In an effort to strengthen the entire Demon Slayer Corps from the bottom up, Hashira's training begins...[1]

Conspiracy

In a remote forest, accompanied by two demon slayers, Wind Hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa and Snake Hashira Obanai Iguro, they walk through an abandoned castle that Obanai believes has been forgotten since the Meiji Restoration. A demon slayer confirms that a woman from a nearby village has been kidnapped, but a search of the castle turns up nothing, and although the demon slayer corps is on high alert, this is now the second disappearance. Sanemi chastises them for their lesser abduction abilities when Obanai spots a demon below their position.

They see him carrying the missing woman and they chase after him. As he makes his way to the castle, the demon realizes he is being watched and curses himself for not killing the demon slayers before. The four enter the castle, but unbeknownst to them, it is filled with many demons; one lunges at the demon slayer, but he is quickly killed by Obanai, while another is beheaded by Sanemi. When the demons start attacking, the Hashirs are able to kill them, but the weaker demon slayers struggle to defend themselves. Obanai orders them to retreat while he continues his mission with Sanemi; when one insists on staying to help, Sanemi dismisses them as obstacles and repeats the order, causing them to retreat.

Sanemi uses Wind Breathing, Second Form: Claws - Purifying Wind.

Obanai notes that something is wrong, and Sanemi confirms his suspicions; they had never seen demons gather in a swarm before. He then hears a woman calling for help and jumps to the top floor where a large horde of demons is housed. Using Wind Breathing, Second Form: Claws - Purifying Wind, Sanemi disembowels the horde with one slashing attack. More demons converge on him as Obanai then appears, performing Serpent's Breath, Fifth Form: Slithering Serpent and severing their heads with a single, liquid slash. Sanemi expresses anger at his help when she sees the kidnapper holding the woman.

Obanai uses Snake Breath, Third Form: Coil Choke.

Realizing that his pursuers are Hashira, the demon flees as Sanemi demands his surrender and kills the demons in his way. They follow the kidnappers outside the castle and are surrounded by other demons. Sanemi wonders where they are coming from and allows Obanai to take over as he goes after the woman and jumps onto the rooftops. Obanai uses Snake Breath, Third Form: Coil Choke, by leaping off the edge to kill the demons in a quick zig-zag attack. Sanemi corners the kidnapper and notices him surrounded by lesser demons. The demons attack, but Sanemi kills them all with Wind Breathing, Fourth Form: Rising Dust Storm, showering herself with blood.

Sanemi and Obanai see the Infinity Castle

The kidnapper then surrenders the woman by throwing her off the roof, but she is caught by Obanai. The Hashiros chase the demon as it falls back into the castle, but when they jump inside, they instead see a vast, endless expanse of wooden halls and lamp-lit rooms where even more demons are crawling. The Infinity Castle then collapses in on itself as they fall in; Sanemi tries to kill the kidnapper, but only succeeds in stabbing the ground as the alternate dimension disappears. Obanai asks where the demons are now, but Sanemi rudely replies that he isn't sure just like he is.

Kanao Tsuyuri, who is driving a wheelchair through the countryside, asks, pulling, if he should leave her at the intersection. He thanks the man and heads to the Butterfly Mansion. Kiyo Terauchi greets her and Naho Takada and Sumi Nakahara welcome her. Kanao sees Shinoba Kocho and announces her return. Shinobu notes that the attack on the Swordsmith village was exactly as she described, but thanks to the efforts of Muichiro, Mitsuri, Tanjiro and others, two higher ranks were killed. The revelation that Nezuko is immune to sunlight is also key, as it signals a major future development; Muzan Kibutsuji will now hunt her down to gain immunity to sunlight. An emergency meeting of the Hashirs has been called, and as Shinobu heads to the Ubuyashiki mansion, she asks Kanao if she can babysit Nezuko; she is surprised by this, but Shinobu believes her.

Tanjiro and Goto discuss Swordsmith Village

Still recovering, Tanjiro talks to Goto and learns that the Swordsmith village is moving. Goto notes that the swordsmen are working hard to move and rebuild the village. As he notes that it was a miracle the damage wasn't too severe, Tanjiro remembers the incredible power of Hantengu's manifestations. Goto adds that the Corps had previously created hidden villages to protect the swordsmen after the attack, impressed by Kagaya Ubuyashiki's foresight. He then wonders if Tanjiro is okay to eat so soon after his ordeal, but mentions that Mitsuri has already started eating. When Goto asks if it's true, both Love and Mist Hashira slept for two days before waking up on the third day, Tanjiro confirms it.

Noting that Tanjiro, who is quickly eating his food, seems to be becoming more and more like Hashira, Goto asks what happened to Nezuko. Tanjiro replies that she has gained immunity to sunlight, but it is unclear if she is turning back into a human or evolving as a demon. Thinking that Shinobu is investigating her, Goto is corrected by Tanjiro who says that it is actually Tamayo who is investigating Nezuko. When Goto asks Tanjiro who Tamayo is, he tries to speak when he suddenly starts choking on his food, for which Kakushi scolds him. He adds that since Nezuko's immunity was revealed, the Corps has been on high alert ever since.

Gyomei is relieved that Mitsuri and Muichiro are fine

At the emergency meeting, Sanemi and Obanai join the remaining Hashiro; the latter apologizes for their late arrival, but Gyomei Himejima praises them for their mission instead. Sanemi asks Mitsuri and Muichiro if they really fought the higher ranks; the two confirmed that they had, prompting him to express his annoyance at never being able to face them. Obanai asks them about their physical well-being; Mitsuri excitedly tells him that she's fine, ecstatic to hear his worries about her, while Muichiro comments that even though he's better, he's not completely healed yet.
